Practicing Mindfulness Safely with Dhama Sun

Mindfulness is a gentle, evidence-based approach to supporting emotional wellbeing, clarity and calm. For most people, it offers a safe and grounding space to reconnect with themselves. However, like any practice that invites stillness and self-reflection, it’s important to honour where you are and what you might be carrying emotionally or physically.

During sessions, you will be offered supportive and guided practices that are designed to nurture, calm and help you build a more grounded connection with yourself. These are not therapeutic interventions and Dhama Sun sessions are not a replacement for mental health treatment or crisis support.

Please take care of yourself by noting the following:

  • If you are currently receiving support from a mental health professional for a serious condition (such as psychosis, bipolar disorder, or complex PTSD), or if you are in recovery from addiction, please speak with your GP or care provider before attending.

  • If you are navigating serious physical health conditions—such as uncontrolled epilepsy or breathing issues, please also consult your healthcare provider first.

  • If you have recently experienced a major life event such as bereavement, separation, serious illness (your own or a loved one’s), or are feeling emotionally vulnerable, mindfulness may bring up feelings that can feel intense or unexpected. In this case, please reach out to me before joining, so we can talk it through together.

  • If you are currently experiencing suicidal thoughts or self-harming, it is important to seek professional support as soon as possible. Your GP, mental health provider, or local crisis services are the best place to start. Please don’t walk through this alone.

Mindfulness invites us to meet ourselves with compassion and honesty. If you are ever unsure whether now is the right time to join a session, or if you simply want to talk something through, you are warmly invited to reach out.
